About the Artist:
Tin Javier is a mixed media and collage artist from Cavite. Her subjects and themes mostly revolve around Philippine folktales and myths, as she can do more portraits of unique characters while promoting our culture. She also loves the challenge of bringing to life certain characters and basing them on their indigenous group origin, using different papers. In her works, she recycles used grocery brown bags, reused stamps for colour and punched paper to add more style and texture to her work. She also wants her art to express her environmental, child rights and women empowerment advocacies.

Gallery Description:
Ang Illustrador ng Kabataan or Ang INK is the Philippines' first and only organization of artists committed to the creation, promotion, and appreciation of illustration for children. It was founded in June 1991, out of a felt need by local illustrators to organize, in belief that a collective effort and organized interaction among colleagues is vital to the professionalization and development of the industry. Its roster of members includes full-time freelance illustrators, graphic designers, painters, writer-illustrators, teachers as well as students in visual arts, and artists working in publishing companies, design-related firms and advertising agenices.
