About the Artist:
Faye Abantao is a graduate of La Consolation Collage- School of Fine Arts, Bacolod last 2015. She remains one of the most active and unique young artists in the Bacolod art scene amidst gaining attention from Manila and Southeast Asia.
This neo-emerging artist of Negros developed an exemplary multi-disciplinary practice of photography, digital printing, origami, heat press and painting. In overlapping sequence, the string of procedures begins with a camera and culminates with paint and brushes, giving her imageries their distinct visual form.
She already has a diverse exposure into the myriad aspects of the art scene, not only in the Philippines but also in South Korea where she finished her artist residency in August 2017. She was able to fortify her experience as an artist through the different shows that she was able to partake in during the last few years. Particularly in last year, she was able to showcase her art through shows such as, The collaboration of Tin-aw Art Gallery and Orange Project - Fathom: The Monumental in Art Series, Survival of The Fittest a Solo Presentation at Xavier Art Fest with Tin-aw Art Gallery, Orange Project's Altar Obsession, Art Fair Philippines, 2019; Gallery Orange’s Unrefining Sugarlandia, Negros Museum, 2018; Ysobel Gallery’s Differentiated Wholeness, Manila Art, 2018; Tin-aw Gallery’s Kada Adlaw, Art Fair Philippines, 2018; Vargas Museum’s Traversals/Trajectories: Expansive Localities, 2017; Viva ExCon’s Turns in Form, UPV Gallery, 2016; Tin-aw Gallery’s Paper Trails, Sankring Art Space Jogjakarta, 2016; Gallery Orange’s Untamed Territory, 2015. Currently, Faye is in the process of deepening her knowledge of her art form and the possible ways that she can expand and share with the world her unique display of life through art.
A Graduate of University of St. La Salle 2004 Bacolod, AB IDS, self-taught artist, a painter, toy designer, and installation artist. Works mostly are Pop Surreal, modern, and social realism. Currently already has 10 solos in Orange Project Galley 3 times, Secret Fresh Gallery 3 times with toy launching, Nova Gallery, Altromondo Gallery, CANVAS and close to a thousand group shows in the Philippines and abroad like Dubai, Singapore, HongKong, Switzerland, Italy, Malaysia, and Gwangju Korea Art Residency.
Orange Project in one tangible contribution towards the elevation of arts consciousness in Negros.
Its mission is both simple and complex. It is expanding creative potentials in a flexible space that has blossomed into an art hub. It is exploration, collaboration, explosion, reflection, and cross-discipline.
It is art with no fear. And fun.
